Xinghai

 

Termoekonomi has signed a contract with the city of Dalian, that together with our partner in China be responsible for planning, installation and operation of the first combined large heatpump/district cooling project in China. Dalian is a city in the northeast of China with 3 million inhabitants. Dalian is the third largest harbour city in China and one of the top five regarding the economical evolution. Xinghai Bay in Dalian is a exclusive city area with offices, apartments, exhibition halls etc. totally 2 million square meters will be connected, with a total cooling requirement of 200 MW, which exceeds the total requirement for Stockholm city. Stockholm is together with Paris the largest district cooling city in Europe. The first stage will be put into operation during the fall of 2006, remaining stages within 2-3 years. The plant will use both cleaned sewage water and sea water. The project is supported from the city of Dalian and from the government. This will be a reference for similar projects in China.
